Start with the spaces you live in
Describe the room and evidence, including whether the problem is near food storage, sleeping furniture, an entrance or a lower level. Mention household access needs and pets when discussing a visit. You do not need to choose a treatment before identification and scope are clear.
Make preparation workable for your household
Ask what needs to be moved, left in place or made accessible for the proposed work. Share the instructions with everyone using the affected space. Tell the service contact before the visit if a preparation step cannot be completed so an appropriate arrangement can be discussed.
For a rented or shared building
Identify the owner, manager or other person who can arrange entry to common areas and discuss repairs. Keep evidence in your unit distinct from reports elsewhere. Confirm whether the proposal is limited to your home or includes additional parts of the building.
